Sex, Age, Comment | Likely a 3cy - 3 cycle bird based on the dark brush on the upper bill. But otherwise a bird that looks like an adult. However, I'm not sure it is possible from this photo to say with certainty that the bird really is a Yellow-footed. In my eyes it looks good for a Western as well. The open bill makes it difficult to judge the thickness of it, and the leg color is not to see. The rather pale gray back could indicate a Western, but I'm not sure if it's not because of the angle and the strong sunlight. Thus, I can't remember any details, but choose to trust my notes saying that I only noted 1 Western, photo 2072, so this one must be one of the 40 YF Gulls that I saw this day. | ||||||||||||
