Sex, Age, Comment | Likely 2cy - 2 cycle bird with the rather bright bill with blackish tip. It is possible that I mis-judge this bird because of the missing back party, but it seems too heavy for a California Gull and doesn't show the pale primary panel expected if it were a Herring Gull. The eye looks pale, but could be emphasized by the very strong sun light. Can't remember the observation but it's surprising to see that the whole back party of the bird is missing. Doesn't look like it has been swept upward hidden by the wing, and if it should have been attacked by a ferocious killer shark or the like, I would assume traces of blood, unless it happened long ago, and the bird now survives without this part of the body. | ||||||||||||
