A female blue form, and probably an immature with the pale look; the wing marks hardly visible. The pruinose-looking cover on the rear abdomen is not something mentioned for these species in my guide books, but assuming it has to do with age as well. If it isn't just dirt of some sort.

The amount of blue on the S4-5 is mentioned in one of my guide books (by the British Dragon Society)as an indication to separate the two species, but the accompanying photos on the their own website are misleading, why I'm not sure this is a good field mark. The amount of blue on S7-9 should also be a clue but it's difficult to ascertain from this photo.

The strong shoulder stripe makes me think it should be an Azure, but the overall coloration of the abdomen rather makes me incline toward Variable.
