First time I try to attract with sugar-wine. In the beginning only wasps seemed interested but after a good half hour the local brushfoots showed up in modest numbers like this White Admiral.
I did not heat the wine and used sirup, why it was easy to mix as is, and perhaps therefore the butterflies didn't show up before the alcohol had evaporated? Will have to experiment of course.
I've done little about the butterflies this season, concentrating on dragonflies - but this worn, but still fascinating, camilla was difficult to ignore.
