Distribution:
Most of Europe; absent from Iberian peninsula and northern part of the Scandinavian peninsula; present south England and Wales. Eastward through Russia and Middle East to C Siberia. In Denmark only found at two sites in C and S Jylland and one on Sjælland.

Status:
VU Denmark. LC globally. Very local in Denmark but probably stable. The population on Sjælland was re-discovered in 2005, and in combination with cleaner waterways the species might be in progress. Rather common in neighboring countries.
