Two different examples, in same spot. Unmistakable in Denmark. Apparently sexes alike. Some aberrants occur frequently, but I think these look normal.

Second animal in picture 3 shows smaller spots than the first one. Normal variation.

Three different individuals.
They looked very exotic when I first saw them, with the yellow spot-circles being very well-defined. Enthusiastically I hoped it would be a new species for me! But rewinding through the references there was nothing to go for. They were just normal ringlets with a well-marked underside. Comparing with some photos from Amager, they looked the same...

I'm not sure how often the satyrinae butterflies are attracted to sugar-wine feeding. Today was my first attempt, and I was surprised to see it, thinking that only the larger brushfoots were incline to do it.
