Happy Wren (Pheugopedius felix pallidus) Felixsmutte ~ Saltapared Feliz 2015-08-04 Barranca de Huentitán, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico Call. As the sound of sweeping across the teeth of a metal comb. Normally it is Spot-breasted Wren that is associated with this call, but Happy also has one sounding in that direction. Endemic |

Happy Wren (Pheugopedius felix pallidus) Felixsmutte ~ Saltapared Feliz 2015-08-04 Barranca de Huentitán, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico Typical song phrase. The chip-call in the foreground is a Varied Bunting and in the background the sound of a West Mexican Chachalaca. Much less common than Sinaloa Wren at this locality. Endemic |

Happy Wren (Pheugopedius felix pallidus/felix) Felixsmutte ~ Saltapared Feliz 2016-04-17 Las Joyas, Sierra de Manantlán, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico Unmistakable with the black-streaked cheek. Still not sure how common it is in the area since I got confused vocally by the many Gray-breasted Wood-wrens present. Rarely heard what I call the common song of Happy Wren, but since the only wren I managed to photograph is this one, it is hard not to believe that it is more common than expected. Endemic |
