Greenish Elaenia (Myiopagis viridicata jaliscensis) Grønlig Elænia ~ Mosquerito Verdoso ~ Grönaktig Elenia 2019-06-01 Cerro Guzmán (jal), Mexico Adult bird calling eagerly. The common call of this subspecies is a rather short two-syllable call something between a Cordilleran Flycatcher and a Rose-throated Becard. Not that you don't hear the normal three-syllable, dyy-iii-yyy call once in a while, also today from another individual, but I've come to it conclude that it is more rare to here in this part of Mexico than further south. |
