Eurasian Collared-Dove (Streptopelia decaocto decaocto) Tyrkerdue ~ Paloma de Collar Turca ~ Turkduva 2015-10-11 Lo de Marcos (nay), Mexico
This dove is thriving in human surroundings what must be the reason to its fast successful expansion south through the American continent. |

Eurasian Collared-Dove (Streptopelia decaocto decaocto) Tyrkerdue ~ Paloma de Collar Turca ~ Turkduva 2015-11-30 Bosque Primavera (Guadalajara), Mexico
Standard individual. The most similar species in the area is White-winged Dove but this shows the white wing border and bluish skin around the eye. The domesticated form of African Collared-Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea) is also established in a few spots in Mexico, but in general is not yet a concern of confusion. It is normally paler than S. decaocto. |

Eurasian Collared-Dove (Streptopelia decaocto decaocto) Tyrkerdue ~ Paloma de Collar Turca ~ Turkduva 2016-02-12 Tårnby Kommune (Amager), Denmark
A bird in fresh plumage. However, whether it is an adult or young bird is difficult to say, though it might have been expected that a young bird would have shown several worn feathers by this time of year, if it hadn't undergone a complete molt circle yet. |

Eurasian Collared-Dove (Streptopelia decaocto ?) Tyrkerdue ~ Paloma de Collar Turca ~ Turkduva 2018-10-14 Península Campos (Manzanillo), Mexico
Largest flock I've ever seen of this species. Estimated 900 birds! Apparently a preferred roosting site here at the far end of the now dead-end road. |
