Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata ) Same bird: 122 Mandarinand ~ Pato Mandarín ~ Mandarinand 2023-05-05 Tømmerupvej (Tårnby), Denmark ♂. Ullerup branddam. Domestic birds both having their wings clipped. One of them both wings, the other just the one. Saw them for the first time today, and knocked on the neighbor door to hear about their origin - if they would know. But no answer. Will try again, if the birds are still around. Of course the presence of these two, makes it reasonable to ask whether the female that has wintered here two seasons now, has been C-spontaneous or not. The lack of bright red bill must be caused by low level of breeding hormons, looking otherwise adult-like. |

Mandarin Duck (Aix galericulata ) Same bird: 122 Mandarinand ~ Pato Mandarín ~ Mandarinand 2023-05-14 Tømmerupvej (Tårnby), Denmark ♂. Ullerup branddam. Still present, of course, though I haven't been able to see them every time I pass by. But the same goes for the Muscovy Ducks, why there probably is another water hole somewhere near by where they hang out too. |
