Subspecies: ? Estimated some 40000 this evening passing by to their night roost. Strangely the majority of black birds this evening was BH Cowbird. The behavior was also different, with large groups of birds formatting a circling ball while descending to the surface of the lake to drink before continuing. |

Subspecies: ? Juvenile. I found this lone bird out on a stone pier, smelling of rarity until I got to see the photos. Bronzed Cowbird is darker and has a shorter primary projection. See 2532. |

Subspecies: ? Female. The very pale and marked chin and throat makes it different from Bronzed Cowbird which do also the narrow neck and the dark eye. The primary projection is noticeable longer on Brown-headed but not possible to ascertain here. |

Subspecies: ? Adult male foraging stance. Notice how impressively bad the Canon 100-400 mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens handles the auto focus. How is it possible to come up with this result using center spot auto focusing on a super contrasting motif like this with a distance of only 5 meters? And this is not an exception. Nikon or Sony help please! |
