♂. I discovered it by the sound, singing, but it difficult to spot as it stayed high in the tall oak trees. A scarce species on Amager, but this year expected since there have been many in other parts of Denmark and Sweden, due to the warm weather from east that we've experienced lately. Second calendar year. ♂. Assuming that eagerly singing migrant birds still follow the traditional belief that such an individual is a male, I conclude the sex as so with this bird. Beside the song, the pale lower mandible assures that this bird is not a Taiga Flycatcher! Found in the SE department by RT. Easier to see, than the bird I found last year, and singing more actively. Also: Common Chaffinch, Eurasian Blackbird, Eurasian Blackcap, Eurasian Wren. Rare |
