This bird came in when I was looking for a Red-breasted Flycatcher I had just found by sound, 3530, but difficult to see, perching high in the trees.
At first, when checking the photos, I thought it was this bird, even though it perched low and in the open, like a Spotted would, and very different from how the red-breasted had behaved until now.
Supporting a Spotted is the streaking on the head, that is not an artefact, and also the fact that this bird has more black on the tip of the lower mandible, whereas the red-breasted show an almost completely pale lower mandible.
