2017-03-09 Reserva de la Biósfera Calakmul, Mexico Subspecies: sharpei Ruins. Adult male. Small size and orange buff cheek is sex and species typic. Locally rather common, though, difficult to see, and even more so to get a decent photo of. This one plus the female were foraging along the road inside the ruin area. Perhaps only possible to experience this if you are the first visitor on site! |
