2016-12-03 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: merganser Kalveboderne. Adult female. The marked transition between the head and the neck plus the long nape feathers suggest that it is an older bird and not a first-winter. |

2019-09-23 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: merganser (by location) A first year female with whitish lores. The neck feathers also seem less bushy than expected on an adult female. The only bird that came by this day with a good southeastern coming in. |

2021-12-25 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark ♂♀. As it is common, every winter, when the temperature falls below zero many common mergansers like to stay in the narrow stretch of water between Amager and Sjælland before entering Kalveboderne further south. These were flushed by two kayakers. With Eurasian Wigeons. |

2024-01-04 Dragør Havn, Denmark ♀. Nordstranden. Foraging close to shore is somewhat unusual. Got this one sideview photo, otherwise it kept diving, and though I was running with it, it constantly emerged two or three meters ahead of me, making it impossible to get a better angled photo. |
