5 birds in almost basic plumage. Here in the photo it is rather easy to pick out and identify the birds but live it can be more difficult. They look very much like dowitchers in basic plumage, and when these are present one has to be careful. Here they forage with a group of Wilson's Phalaropes, and you sense the different basic color tone and it is easy to see that the phalaropes do not have black spots toward the rear part, below the tail.
