2019-10-27 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Adult male in eclipse plumage beginning transition to breeding plumage. In picture 2 the bird looking out of the frame is another ecliptical male, determined by the pure white wing coverts. The other right side bird could be too or a juvenile. |

The green sheen to the side of the head is a natural trait of the species, and not an indication of hybridism with American Wigeon. The right bird is a female type, but I didn't see it better than on the photo, why I'm not sure if it's an adult or juvenile. |
