2016-10-27 Rome, Italy Subspecies: ? Forum Romano. Horrible photo. Didn't hear it, and didn't see it better than this. But the general colors, structure, black legs and dark lore indicate this species. The only phylloscopus I saw on this trip. |

2019-09-27 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: ? A rather brownish and pale bird without much green in it, but is it enough to eliminate the Siberian subspecies tristis? |

2019-09-27 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: collybita (by location) Slightly out of focus but rather typical in appearance. The yellow-brownish cast is obvious to the eyebrow and sides of breast. The structural expression as the bird looks in picture 1 is spot on for the species. Willow Warbler would look more elongated. Here the primary projection looks pretty long for a Chiffchaff, but is emphasized too much by the strong angle. Very common migrant in autumn. |

2020-04-06 Kongelundsområdet, Denmark Subspecies: [likely local collybita] Warm olive brown colors, dark legs and short primary projection are good indications of this species. At this time of year still the only phylloscopus species in Denmark. |

2021-12-17 Amager Strandpark, Denmark Discovered by the call in the thicket at the bottom of the grassy hill next to 5-øren, in front of Sneglen. Sounded as a normal chiffchaff also supported by the photo. Looks extra warm because of the poor light conditions. |

2022-10-14 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: tristis Motorvejsbroen. [SIBERIAN] This bird showed up when I was provoking with the alarm call of Plumbeous Vireo (very effective). I first saw the very pale and well-marked eyebrow, giving hope that it was one of the rare species. But then I saw the rest of the bird, and knew that it was probably not. But it still looked different from the usual phylloscopus birds we see on Amager. The brown coloration and the beige colored strong eyebrow indicated this, and I ended up concluding that it was probably a Siberian Chiffchaff. There were other chiffchaffs present and they looked more like they use to. And they called normally. This bird didn't say anything, but when I tried to play the call and song of tristis it responded eagerly by moving fast from one spot to the other. I know you normally have to hear the birds before you can claim a tristis, by I feel confident above this and count it. |

2022-10-14 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: possible tristis Motorvejsbroen. This bird showed up when I was provoking with the alarm call of Plumbeous Vireo (very effective). This bird was also present where the tristis, 4203, showed up. I didn't pay attention to it as such in the field, but seeing the photos now it certainly looks rather green- and yellowless why it could be another candidate for a tristis...? |

2022-10-14 Kalvebod Fælled, Denmark Subspecies: tristis Ottehøjevej x Granatvej. [SIBERIAN] Afternoon and quiet overcast weather. Compared to the other bird this day, 4203, this one was calling spontaneously, and gave very good looks. It's probably a coincidence but I've never seen a normal Chiffchaff behave with such confidence. It foraged down to 1 meter from me and perched several times in the open, constantly giving its characteristic 'chicken-call'...Winnner Winner Chicken Dinner..! 5 minutes later it continued through the vegetation. Also seen by Knud Boysen. |
