2015-04-20 Kongelundsområdet, Amager, Denmark
Likely young female. Young because of the brownish primaries and female because of the dirty flanks. Rather new species in Kongelunden/Amager. Immigrated during the last few years. Is seen in both the eastern and western part. Probably more pairs.
2019-01-11 Søndersø, Sjælland, Denmark
Likely adult male of this subspecies, the Scandinavian/Russian one with extensive white underside and rufous colors restricted to the rear flank and rump.
2020-09-03 Lunden, Gemmas Alle, Amager, Denmark
Very pale bird indicates this subspecies. Females have dusky rear flanks why this bird might be a such. Not sure though.
My first observation on Amager, away from Kongelunden and adjecent areas.
2022-01-12 Lunden, Gemmas Alle, Amager, Denmark
Two birds present, apparently foraging low in the gardens with feeders.
The warm rufous colored underside on this bird indicates that it belongs to the continental subspecies, caesia, unlike the bird I saw at this site in September 2020, that was clearly paler on the underside. However, the subdued intensity of the color could also indicate a bird of mixed heritage. Will be interesting to see if I can find them in spring again, and confirm them as breeders here.
