Subspecies: major Adult bird with severe abnormality around the right eye. However, the eye seemed to work without problems, judging by the way it behaved. It came to our balcony during several days to eat sunflower seeds together with other Great Tits, Blue Tits and Tree Sparrows. Aberrant, Vinkelhuse |

Subspecies: major Balcony visitor eating Sunflower seeds, served with the husk. And Hippihurray: This also became the first bird photographed with my new Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM lens. Replacement for my 400mm f/5.6 that when on a recent trip to Belize suddenly and literary fell apart. |

First calendar year. Juveniles, just coming out of the nest box. Maybe 3 or 4, and absolutely not well-behaved. They took off one by one just speeding away toward the nearest trees and bushes away from the building. But apparently the parents didn't understand this well since they kept coming to the box with food. Then they flew about, but apparently without finding the small peeps because they kept coming back. Now in the moment of writing, in the evening, there is just to hope they have found their way back to the nest for good shelter during the night. |

Juvenile. Time to leave. I guess there is only one or two birds being raised this year because of the long draught we've had. The parents have arrived at a moderate pace and always with only one prey item at a time. In the time of writing, June 13. it sounds like the box is empty, and the new world inhabitants have left to conquer the world. Vinkelhuse |
