2010-11-09 Estero Punta Banda (bcn), Mexico Adult. Male. Unmistakable when seen well. The pink color of the gorget is unique among Mexican hummingbirds. From the side you can see that the remiges do not reach the tip of the tail which separates it from Costa's Hummingbird, also in the area. The shape of the gorget feathers is also different - less pointed. The most common hummingbird in the area. |
