Subspecies: candida
Sexes and ages alike. Looks like a female type of many other species, with the red lower mandible, the clear white underside and greenish upper side. The tail is without any orange coloration and laterally has a unique dark subterminal band. In overlap zones Azure-crowned Hummingbird might look similar but is larger with more slender proportions.

Subspecies: candida
The bright underside and the small size and compact body are always good indications of this species.

Subspecies: candida
Green, red and white this small hummingbird is distinct in its own anonymous sort of way, especially with the characteristic white breast that you normally don't see on other sympatric hummingbirds in this part of Mexico.
