2015-12-30 Barranca de Huentitán, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico
Adults. They come in via the extensive canyon system along the river Santiago leading to the Pacific coast in Nayarit. They are only present during the winter months, probably entering to forage on certain trees and fruits. Saw 10 this day.
2019-02-06 Santuario de las Guacamayas Verdes, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico
Different birds. Adults at breeding site. 18 artificial nests are occupied at the moment.
2019-06-07 Rancho Primavera, El Tuito, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico
Adult rescue bird, came to the ranch after cage past. The idea was for it to return to its wild behavior and connect with the wild macaws that are getting more numerous in the area thanks to the work of the macaw sanctuary close by where a nesting program has proven very successful.
But this bird apparently can't let go of its human attachment why it will probably continue as a free flying pet for the rest of its life.
2020-01-06 Camino a Pánuco, Copala, Sinaloa (Sin), Mexico
Magnificent free-flying birds in this vast poorly-populated part of Mexico.
