In winter plumage the female shows pronounced silver gray vermiculation to the back, which at first glance could make it look like a young male starting to acquire the gray back. But the white face patch of the female will probably always be so well-marked that doubts about sex should be excluded.

They don't like Amager! 6 birds with a bunch of Tufted and 1.1 Common Pochards. And remember: It is not pronounced [skaup] as some Danish birders having lived abroad had gotten accustomed to.
