2015-11-30 Bosque Primavera (Guadalajara), Mexico Subspecies: decaocto Standard individual. The most similar species in the area is White-winged Dove but this shows the white wing border and bluish skin around the eye. The domesticated form of African Collared-Dove (Streptopelia roseogrisea) is also established in a few spots in Mexico, but in general is not yet a concern of confusion. It is normally paler than S. decaocto. |

However, whether it is an adult or young bird is difficult to say, though it might have been expected that a young bird would have shown several worn feathers by this time of year, if it hadn't undergone a complete molt circle yet. |
