2013-11-28    Camino Vigia Chico (roo), Mexico

Subspecies: flavirostris
Adult. Compared with 2356 - the western subspecies, it looks like this one has paler belly and more red on the bill. The species is more common in this region.

Red-billed Pigeon 2356    (2 photos)
2015-10-11    Lo de Marcos (nay), Mexico

Subspecies: restricta
Adult. Even though the species doesn't have any strong colors or field marks, it always draws attention to it when flying across the sky. Both because it is a big bird and pigeon and because it is darker than the other doves and pigeons in the area. The bill normally looks more yellowish than red. Only the inner most part of the bill shows a tint of red. Scarce species in the area. Solitary or few birds together.
