2010-11-13 El Sauzal, Baja California (Bcn), Mexico
Juvenile. Apparently a classic pure bird without hybrid tendencies. Only bird present of this species among thousands of Western Gulls.
2010-11-13 Puerto de Ensenada, Baja California (Bcn), Mexico
Juvenile. Unsure about the purity of this bird. Perhaps the bright backlight makes the bill look paler than it is - that it looks slender is caused by the angle of the head to the camera. The remiges look good for a pure bird, but the greater coverts are perhaps a bit too mottled, but not sure if it appears so because of the bad photo quality.
