Third calendar year. Looks like it is not in a completely adult stage, the inner primaries seeming soft-colored and perhaps some upperwing coverts as well.

Juvenile. Typical young bird. Also two worn adults and a South American Tern.
There's a breeding colony here. I counted 250 birds. Juveniles included.

Juvenile. The white tips to the primaries are difficult to perceive from this flying angle, but obvious on the perched bird. Like that, there are no confusion species in the area, the young Gray-hooded showing a more 'normal' juvenile hand, all brownish. I'm not sure if the molted outer secondary is normally seen at this date.
