Solitary Sandpiper 1976    (12 photos)
2015-10-11    Lo de Marcos (nay), Mexico

Subspecies: ?
Looks like a juvenile with unmolted plumage, light throat and bright fringes to coverts. Two birds were present, however, I think all photos are of the same bird. They flew constantly around in circles in between the trees at the small pond where I found them. Very difficult to keep them in the viewfinder while the camera tried to focus. Generally this species is much more pale and less contrasting than Green Sandpiper, and especially the tail pattern is different, the central part on Green being completely white leaving the impression of big contrast between the blackish wings and completely white tail.
