Subspecies: ? Part of a larger flock roosting on their continued journey south. Only large-numbered pluvialis species in Denmark. In picture 1 196 indviduals. Before counting precisely I got ca. 170 on a loose count, which confirms my very consistent undercounting with about 15% when counting a flock with this density. |

Subspecies: [monotypic] Sydtårn. I took this for a Dotterel at first, but have now, time later, decided to change it to a pluvialis, which is more likely. Old text: Likely a very worn and pale male. An unusual bird. It didn't show the classic broad white eyebrow behind the eye, but did show a demarcation between the upper breast and the belly as expected. The structure of the bird also supported this species as did the behavior, slowly foraging, alone, away from the also present golden-plovers. Rare, Digiscoped |

Long-time roosting birds, a pleasant tradition. |
