Long-tailed Wood-Partridge (Dendrortyx macroura striatus) New World Quail (Odontophoridae) Volcán de Fuego, Jalisco (Jal), Mexico 2012-05-10 Endemic. Adult. There was absolutely no time to hesistate when this one decided to cross the road. There were 4 of them around us, and they approached gladly to the edge of the road while still in cover. But to hope for a quiet road crossing was too naive, and as a result one foot was clipped in the hurry. We only saw and heard this one group. Endemic, Best photos |
