Common Merganser (Mergus merganser merganser) Ducks, Geese and Waterfowl (Anatidae) Kalveboderne, Amager, Denmark 2016-12-03 Adult female. The marked transition between the head and the neck plus the long nape feathers suggest that it is an older bird and not a first-winter. |

Common Merganser (Mergus merganser merganser (by location)) Ducks, Geese and Waterfowl (Anatidae) Kalvebod Fælled, Amager, Denmark 2019-09-23 A first year female with whitish lores. The neck feathers also seem less bushy than expected on an adult female. The only bird that came by this day with a good southeastern coming in. |
