Gambel's Quail (Callipepla gambelii fulvipectus) New World Quail (Odontophoridae) Puerto Peñasco, Sonora (Son), Mexico 2010-11-06 Male at the back and female in the middle. Both without scaly nape and with strong red brown flanks with white streaks. The male shows well the reddish crown, much more colorful than the same shown by male California Quail. |
