Long-tailed Sabrewing (Campylopterus excellens) monotypic
Comunidad Benito Juárez, Los Tuxtlas, Veracruz (Ver), Mexico
Presumed female on the nest. Found by local guide, who didn't know it was there. But we went there exactly to look for this species, why I think we should consider ourselves lucky to get it. The nest is placed above a creek and the cliff protrudes further up, giving good shelter against the rain.
