Wood Duck (Aix sponsa)
Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) monotypic
Brudeand - Pato Arcoíris
Bridge over San Pedro near El Sabinál, Aguascalientes (Agu), Mexico
Adult male, unmistakable. Prefers riparian water bodies with quiet water and overhanging trees. I've seen it in Ags at the end of May, but normally it is only a winter visitor this far south in Mexico. Had to use the burka-hide to get close enough. Here in Mexico it is my, limited, experience that the species is rather shy, and difficult to approach.
