2017-04-23 Manglar El Castaño, Chiapas (Chp), Mexico Adult. Unmistakable and enigmatic heron. Swamp and mangrove is the habitat it favors, so you have to get into a boat to get it, normally. This newly discovered site houses quite a few individuals, and hopefully the locals will be successful not putting too much pressure on the birds, as more people will come by to see it. |
