Local juvenile with the neat regular plumage. The warm tones and the pale reddish legs separate it from common migrant Wood Sandpiper which is normally cold gray, finer build and has greenish legs. Very rare Lesser Yellowlegs is probably the biggest confusion possibility but with prolonged views the also cold gray basic tone and the more stilt like stance plus always more yellowish legs should lead you in the right direction. The bump on the upper bill looks like an abnormality.
Apparently birds that winter in Denmark are solely of the robusta subspecies, whereas the Scandinavian birds winter from the Mediterranean region and south.
I would like to think that it is not as black and white, and less so with warmer climate inviting many migrants to winter closer to their breeding grounds than before.
These birds do look large and dark cold grayish which is characteristic of robusta, and since the local birds seem to have disappeared some weeks ago, I admit that they probably are of this subspecies.
