Adults. Typical crane silhouette. Difficult to say if these belong to the group: Lesser (canadensis) or Greater (tabida/rowani). This is easiest to judge when the two are seen together.
Adult. The brown spots on the wing are stains of rust created by soil that the birds apply to the plumage with the intention to create a camouflage effect.
3 adult Greater and 6 Lesser in the background. The one most to the left is a young bird without red on the head. When seen together it is rather easy to distinguish between Greater and Lesser.
